Our Roots

As part of the design stages of the Quebec Indigenous Mentorship Network, Kanien’kehá:ka Elder Joe Jacobs offered the Mohawk word, Teionkwaienawa:kon “working together” to describe and guide our mentorship network. We will honour this principle of Teionkwaienawa:kon  as we bring together Indigenous & non-Indigenous researchers & knowledge users for culturally safe & responsive health research.

This website will guide the training and support of emerging researchers through their research careers emphasizing culturally grounded research methods and engagement with Indigenous communities. This face-to-face program will see Indigenous scholars through the different stages of graduate and postgraduate training, to new investigator level.
